Continental Tire Technologies

The engineers atContinental have developed several technologies to give their tires and edge over the competition. By striking the perfect balance between materials and design, Continental tires outlast and outperform on the open road.

  • EcoPlus Technology– Tires featuring the EcoPlus technology give drivers improved fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions by lowering rolling resistance without sacrificing road grip. The ProContactTM is one model that makes the most of EcoPlus.
  • Chamfered edge technology – A chamfered edge is what gives Continental tires top-of-the-line acceleration grip, handling, and braking traction in dry conditions. The ExtremeContactTM DWS tire makes use of it tomaximize surface contact, resulting in increased traction.
  • PROactive Edge Technology – This innovative tread design uses the science of edges to provide increased grip and a quiet ride. Edges provide the greatest grip and control when  they are perpendicular to the direction of travel. PROactive Edge Technology organizes edges in an arched pattern so that there are more active edges in the contact patch. No matter which direction the tire (such as the ContiProContactTM) is pointed, you always have an edge.
